Claiborne County Launches New Web Site
After months of planning and work, the new Claiborne County Chamber of Commerce / Tourism web site launched to the public today. "We are very excited about the new web site. It has a very modern, attractive design and will give us a lot of opportunites to serve the area better," said Dennis Shipley, Chamber Executive Director.
The new web site has many new features including the ability for the community to submit events for the on-line community calendar.

Wilderness Road Kiwania Expanding
New Chamber of Commerce member Wilderness Road Kiwanis are expanding their monthly meetings to the Tazewell area. Wilderness Road Kiwanis hold their meetings at 12:00 noon on each Tuesday of the month at Shoney’s in Harrogate. Now they are expanding their meetings to include the Tazewell area for their members that work in this area of the county. The Tazewell meetings will be held at 12:00 noon on the last Tuesday of each month at Old Town Grill. This month's meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 29th.
Farm Credit Services Scholarships
Farm Credit Services of Mid-America – a $13 billion ag lending cooperative serving farmers and rural America in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and Tennessee - re-affirmed its commitment to educational success by making $36,000 in scholarships available in 2008 to children of members who are studying agriculture or business at four-year universities. Eighteen scholarships – valued at $2,000 each - will be awarded based on academic record, leadership qualities, and community involvement. To see official Release Click Here.
The web site was designed by chamber member Web Boss Design Studio and was paid for in part with a grant from Tennessee State Tourism.
