Community Involvement

Leadership School The Leadership Claiborne school was originally created as part of the requirements of the Governor's Three Star Program. Each class must formalize and complete a community project each year, although some have been ongoing over several years. Recent projects include coordinating the paving and lighting of the Needham Hollow public boat ramp in the south part of the county, establishing an access road to the Clairfield community that will dramatically reduce drive time in that area, and this year's class in underway with the creation of a Youth Leadership program in the high schools.

Three Star Program Retention of the state Three-Star certification for the county is crucial to Claiborne County receiving grant and funding preference at the state level including an extra point in CDBG competition , and has many more benefits that positively impact the area. More information can be found at the Tennessee state website. The Chamber is principally involved in ensuring Claiborne County remains a Three-Star community by completing projects that fulfill the state criteria and filing the necessary paperwork during the annual re-certification period.
